Program Goals
The purpose of this program is to review the complex construct of health behavior change and to learn how to apply some simple psychological techniques to improve adherence to treatment. We will discuss the problem of non-adherence as a behavior. We will review 5 pillars of behavior change that predict adherence to treatment. Sleep apnea will be used as an example of a chronic condition where adherence is often below expectations. We will demonstrate how suing these psychological approaches can lead to dramatic improvements in adherence to treatment.
